The Reviewers follow the defined Review Process to assess and select the session proposals that are submitted through the Call for Proposal process The Conference Chairperson is responsible for defining the final program through exercising a formal consensus with the Reviewers.

Human-Centered Agility: Building Empathy in the Age of AI

Agile is fundamentally about people over processes. This year's conference invites session proposals on how we retain empathy, connection, and ethical decision-making in a world increasingly influenced by AI. AI is accelerating delivery, analysis, and even customer interaction - yet it risks depersonalisation unless guided by human empathy. One of the most significant question is - can we re-focus on people over processes and empathy over automation?

The conference theme challenges Agile professionals to ensure technology enhances, not replaces, the human-centric values of Agile.

  • Leadership, Culture & Strategy

This sub-theme explores how leadership, organisational culture, and strategic thinking evolve in a world where AI is reshaping human interaction, decision-making, and workplace dynamics. It’s about leading with empathy, crafting cultures that prioritize people over process, and developing strategies that align agile values with the ethical use of AI.

Possible topics for submission (as a guideline)

   ○ Leading agile transformations in the age of automation and AI

   ○ Cultivating empathetic leadership and emotionally intelligent teams

   ○ Organizational design that supports continuous learning and psychological safety

   ○ Ethical decision-making and governance in AI-augmented workplaces

   ○ Strategic agility: balancing tech-driven innovation with human-centered values

   ○ Shifting mindsets from efficiency to empathy in scaling agile practices

  • AI/Tools and Innovation

This sub-theme investigates the intersection of emerging AI technologies and agile practices. It’s about how tools can enhance — not replace — human insight, and how innovation can be driven responsibly, inclusively, and empathetically.

Possible topics for submission (as a guideline)

   ○ Leveraging AI to support agile product development and team collaboration

   ○ Case studies on AI-enhanced retrospectives, planning, or customer research

   ○ The role of AI in knowledge work and its impact on autonomy and agency

   ○ Responsible AI: transparency, bias mitigation, and inclusive design

   ○ Experimentation with generative AI in agile workflows (e.g., content, code, design)

   ○ Building tools that enhance human creativity, not stifle it

  • Methods and Evolution

This sub-theme delves into the evolution of agile methods and frameworks in response to the growing influence of AI and the need for more human-centered practices. It’s about reimagining how we work — adapting methods to preserve empathy, collaboration, and purpose amid rapid change.

Possible topics for submission (as a guideline)

   ○ Evolving Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, or other frameworks to be more human-focused

   ○ Integrating design thinking, systems thinking, and lean startup in agile practices

   ○ New practices or adaptations to handle AI-influenced product lifecycles

   ○ Embedding empathy in agile ceremonies and artifacts

   ○ Practices that balance speed, automation, and thoughtful reflection

   ○ Scaling methods that support diverse, distributed, and AI-augmented teams
