Mr. Abhijan Bhattacharyya is a Sr. Scientist in Network Solutions & Services unit of TCS with an industry experience of 22 years. Along with his professional responsibilities, he holds positions of responsibilities in national and international ICT standardization bodies. He is the vice chair of Study Group of future networks standardization under International Telecommunication Union, which is the Telecom wing of United Nations. He is the Vice Chair of working group on network solutions standardization in Telecom Standardization Society, India under Ministry of Communications.


He is part of the Indian Delegation in World Telecom Standardization Association under DoT, Ministry of Communications. He is a member of the National Special Interest Group on Internet under Ministry of Electronics and IT. He is also a visiting faculty of Jadavpur University at present.


He has more than 50 patents granted across different geographies including US, Europe, Japan, China, India. He has around 25 publications in renowned international conference proceedings, journals and book chapters.


He authored RFC7967 which is the first indigenous contribution from India to global Internet standards from IETF. In the past he provided technical leadership for critical product deliveries for contemporary wireless physical layer modules for a leading telecom test and measurement equipment producer. His present areas of interest are AI native networks and solutions, signal processing, Internet protocols. He did B.Sc. (Honours) in Electronics and B.Tech in Information Technology from University of Calcutta and M.E. from Jadavpur University. He is pursuing PhD on future networks from Jadavpur University.
